The Kalkite hill climb will be an individual time trial event. The event will take place from the village of Kalkite A(see map below) then proceed up the Kalkite rd towards Eucumbene rd at B. The distance is approximately 5klm. The ride is very scenic with views over Lake Jindabyne, Jindabyne and the Snowy mountains.
The course starts out flat for 500m and then rises for the first steep section of 1500m. The course then eases off for 1000m before the final climb of 2000m.
Parking is available at race start A and also at the start of Kalkite rd & Eucumbene rd C and also on the corner of Kosiuszko rd & Eucumbene rd D. There is limited areas at race start for riders who want to warm up on the road. The course will be closed for warming up from 8.30 am. Suggested warming up area is on Eucumbene rd north of the Kalkite rd intersection.
START 9.00am Rego prior to 8.30am for Sat 21st of March 2015
There will be no warm ups on the Kalkite rd. All riders are to follow road rules as the road will not be closed. All riders are to keep to the left hand side of road and after finish continue on to a safe turning area. All riders descending to race start or returning to pick up there cars are to proceed back down the hill no faster than 50k/hr. This will eliminate dangers for competitors and other road users.
